RCMC provides direct services to youth mentor  programs throughout Riverside County by:  hosting a web site and mentor information hotline, hosting an annual mentor recognition event, providing training and technical assistance and encouraging member best practices.

JANUARY 2011

IS

MENTOR RECOGNITION MONTH

 

WHEREAS, Community Action Partnership of Riverside County (CAP Riverside) established the Riverside County Mentor Collaborative (RCMC) in 1996;

and

 

WHEREAS, The mission of the Riverside County Mentor Collaborative is to assist, support and develop safe and positive mentor-protégé relationships toward a goal of strong, safe communities for families and their children;

 

and

 

WHEREAS, The Riverside County Mentor Collaborative, a member of the California Governor's Mentoring Partnership since 1996, is a countywide partnership of over 50 mentor programs that assist, support and encourage safe, positive mentor-protégé connections;

 

and

 

WHEREAS, the Riverside County Mentor Collaborative provides recruitment and referrals for volunteers and families with children and promotes technical assistance for mentors and mentor-trainers;

 

and

 

WHEREAS, Community Action Partnership of Riverside County facilitates the annual mentor recognition event to be held on January 26, 2011

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Board of Supervisors of Riverside County does hereby commend the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County for its continual focus on the children and youth of Riverside County;

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to commend the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County and members of the Riverside County Mentor Collaborative for improving the mentor relationships for the children and youth of Riverside County, and to proclaim January 2011 as Mentor Recognition Month.
